Planning a trip to Tokyo, we found information about the Asakusa sumo experience scattered, inconsistent and often out of date. Prices were unclear, schedules were buried, and it was hard to tell official pages from resellers. We built asakusasumo.tokyo to fix that: one clear, well-organised place to learn what the experience involves, compare your options and book with confidence.
What we do
We research and explain everything a visitor needs before buying a ticket — what the show includes, how much it costs, when to go, how to get there, and how to save. We publish in English, Japanese, Chinese and Korean so more travellers can plan in their own language.
Our independence
We are not affiliated with any sumo venue, operator or ticket office. We do not run the shows and we do not sell tickets. That independence lets us describe the experience plainly, including its limitations, rather than acting as a sales page.
Our commitment to accuracy
Prices and schedules change.
